Digital Ambition was launched to help people start and grow a successful online business. That was a big part of my background and passion and it’s what I had succeeded at three separate times.

When I went full time with my agency and started landing big contracts, I didn’t have any free time to continue producing content for Digital Ambition. So, I stopped.

Recently, many people have been asking me to start publishing content aimed at helping agency owners specifically, and to include lots of content on the UX design, web design, and Oxygen side of things. While I’m still limited with my time, I love the idea of publishing content in a tighter niche and a lot of the content I can produce is simply documenting the real day-to-day stuff I’m doing and working on as an agency owner.

It feels like a great fit, so here we are! Digital Ambition will now be geared 100% toward running a successful digital agency. It’ll be a combination of high-level strategy and deep-in-the-weeds technical execution.

Hey, what’s up everybody? It’s time for a quick channel update because a lot of stuff is changing at digital The website has been completely redone. If you haven’t been there, definitely go check that out. The channel is going to be shifting as well. There’s going to be a lot of new people coming to the channel and there’s going to be a lot of different kinds of content, new kinds of content being published here. I obviously haven’t published in a while. So I just want to do this quick video. It’s like a, this is the break, right, from the old to the new and just kind of explain what’s going on for all the new people that are coming and the maybe existing subscribers that are like, what’s going on now, right? If you’re on the email list, I did update the email list. If you haven’t been to, that is a whole new website now. You should go there and check it out. There’s some explainers right now about the shift that we’re going through and why and what’s to come. But basically it’s this. Okay, so I started digital ambition originally to help people start and grow online businesses and understand and learn online marketing. My background is has been in marketing forever. Basically, I’ve been an entrepreneur my entire life. And in 2012, I started my first online business, which I grew to six figures in annual revenue and profit, by the way, in under two years. And that was the first of three successful online businesses. And so it was natural that I just taught people how to start and grow online businesses. It’s like it’s what I do. It’s what I know. It’s what I’m good at. And I built up a great audience at digital ambition. But I also started one of the online businesses, not really an online business. It’s actually just, it is a location independent business. But it is a digital agency, digital web design, SEO, digital marketing agency.

And that has been my sole focus since 2019 is I like I went full time on the digital agency thing. And let me tell you the digital agency has just taken off. It’s absolutely fantastic. I mean, this stuff is my wheelhouse. It’s it’s what I’m good at. Like I getting on on strategy calls with people closing big deals. I mean, we closed in 2019, no, 2020. Yes, in 2020, a $125,000 contract for one website, one digital marketing project. That was the biggest contract that we’ve closed to date. But you know, that is like coming from the old days of web design and digital marketing, like my biggest contract might be $10,000. And so I’ve come a long way in this digital agency game. And along that path, I’ve picked up a lot of people who know what I’m doing on the digital agency side of things. And they’ve asked me over and over and over again, hey, please publish content related to running and growing and managing a successful digital agency. Also, to combine with this, our team builds everything on WordPress and lately, as of like a year ago, exclusively on oxygen. And there is a huge community of oxygen peeps who they want oxygen content, right? And we have a lot of great processes in place, a lot of knowledge with oxygen. I think there’s a lot of really great things I can share, especially if you’re using oxygen on the agency side of things. Or if you’re freelancer, I want to mention that too. Like this is not just for people building agencies. It’s for people doing freelance web design freelance digital marketing. So long story short, here’s what’s going to happen. The channel is shifting digital is shifting. The whole idea here is to give you an insider look at what a successful digital agency looks like. Just like peel back the curtain, let people inside see kind of a little bit of everything. You’re going to see me closing deals. You’re going to see me doing discovery calls. You’re going to see the processes that we go through behind the scenes, the processes that we put in place. You’re going to see a lot of the strategy. I’m going to get into the deep, deep weeds when it comes to technical execution on things like UX design in Figma. When I send something off to the designer to get the UI design done, when it comes back and us setting up and developing a an oxygen wordpress website from start to finish, all of that kind of like in the weeds technical detail type stuff is going to be covered here along with a lot of really great stuff on the just running, managing, growing, a digital agency side of things. If you’re still trying to do the online business stuff like Allah, you know, digital ambition of old, you could still probably pick up a lot of online marketing nuggets here and there. But officially, I am not catering to that audience anymore. I am catering to agency owners and freelancers, primarily people who are involved in web design, UX design, local SEO, national SEO, and digital marketing, PPC, Facebook ads, and the like. And then of course, you know, on the business side of things, there’s just so much to talk about and so much to share. And you’re going to see, by the way, you know, my goal here is to try and be transparent. It’s to try and be vulnerable a little bit. So I’m going to show you wins. I’m going to hopefully get the courage to show you losses as well and then things that aren’t going very well. That’s kind of like, you know, part of the package when it comes to looking inside a real digital agency. This is not like guru talk. This is not you come here to learn from the expert talk. This is just kind of documenting what it’s like to try to build a seven figure digital agency.
