Etch's Auto Block Authoring feature doesn't just author static blocks—it authors components, templates, and loops as well.
When you make something a component, Etch authors it as a "Synced Pattern" in the block editor, making it available in the pattern library. It also exposes all component props to the block editor user so they can easily control the component's behavior.
In this video, I demonstrate how I used Etch's Auto Block Authoring feature to create a table of contents block for my personal blog. This block can be added to any post in the block editor when I'm writing it and I have the choice of whether it scans for only H2 headings or H2 and H3 headings.
And if that's not crazy enough … I achieved all of this without writing a single line of code.
You should also keep in mind that Auto Block Authoring is not *why* Etch was built. It just happens to be an insanely valuable and innovative feature (among tons of others).
Essentially, Etch is doing things nobody has ever seen before … as a side quest.
