ACSS 4.0 development started over the Summer with the explicit goal of auditing every single corner of the framework to decide what truly belongs in Era 4 and what doesn't. This is the first time that ACSS has been taken apart and put back together again since it was first created in 2021. It's essentially a "fresh start."
The result: The dashboard UI is unified with Etch's UI, the framework is lighter, faster, and more efficient, and everything leverages the most modern CSS techniques available with hardly any changes to actual workflow. This means that existing ACSS users can pick up 4.0 and get right to work without any real learning curve.
In this livestream we'll take a look at ACSS 4.0's progress up to this point, talk about what still needs to be done, and discuss the timeline for release.
