Selector lists are separated by a comma, so any time you're looking at a comma separated syntax in CSS, you're looking at a list of selectors rather than a single selector.

Selector lists allow multiple different selectors to share styling. For example, all headings can share the same text color, or all pseudo elements attached to a specific element can look a certain way.
